Please Note: You do not need to “register” with our office before your baby is born. If you would like one of the physicians at Children’s Medical Group to be your baby’s doctor, simply tell your obstetrician and the hospital staff when you arrive at the hospital to give birth. The hospital will notify our office when your baby is born. One of our pediatricians will be in to see you and your baby when they do hospital rounds that morning.

Our practice is currently affiliated with Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Springhill Medical Center, and Providence Hospital.
General Information
After coming home from giving birth, your baby should come into the office for a 2 week weight check. Our weight check hours are from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. The nurse will check the baby’s weight and answer any questions.
Remember to enroll the baby on your insurance. Your insurance only covers the baby while you are in the hospital. You have 30 days after birth of baby. Be sure to call insurance employer group to get the forms and info they need from you to enroll your baby before his/her birth. Failure to do so within this 30 day period will affect your baby’s enrollment which could cause denial of billed claims.
Our office accepts most insurance plans. However, we do not accept Medicaid.
As parents, especially if this is your first child, you always have questions and concerns. We will be glad to answer these as they arise. At Children’s Medical Group, we are committed to helping you care for your child.
