Sick Visits
For your convenience, we make appointments; however, sick appointments are taken on a same day basis. Emergencies will be cared for at any time, but telephone first, if possible, so preparation can be made. When calling for an appointment please make individual appointments for each child needing to be seen and indicate the nature of the illness. Please do not ask to be seen without an appointment. Even with appointments your physician may be behind schedule due to emergencies. We are certain you will understand when this happens. At such times, one of the other physicians may be able to see you. If for any reason you cannot keep an appointment, please call to cancel it.
After-Hours Appointments
A physician and nurse are on duty at the office on weekdays after 5:00 pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. These appointments are for sick children and minor emergencies. The office is open until all of the patients are seen. Nurses are available to return calls for questions that cannot wait until the following day until 8:30 pm on weekdays and 6:00 pm on weekends. After the office closes, if you have an emergency, call the office number and the answering service will page the physician on call to return your call. Please keep your phone line clear. If, in your judgment, waiting for a return call from the physician would be dangerous, then take the child to the emergency room of your choice, having notified the answering service of this.
